Sphalerite forms diamond-glossy, steel, almost black crystals, which reach a size of up to 1 cm. On the back side, small, translucent, glassy crystals of quartz sit on the sphalerite crystals. This is a nice specimen of these minerals, which comes from the Romanian locality Cavnic.
